Radków Reservoir

Welcome to Radków Reservoir. It's a great stop on your route, especially if you're cycling and looking for a place to combine relaxation with a beautiful view. The reservoir lies about 2 kilometers from the center of Radków, at the foot of the Table Mountains.

Although it's an artificial recreational reservoir, it feels like a natural part of the landscape—with water, a beach, a panoramic view, and a tranquility usually missing in more crowded resorts. It was created in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a place to relax, and today it's one of the most popular recreational spots in the area. During the season, there's a guarded swimming area with water equipment rentals. Entry and parking are available during this time.

For cyclists, it's a truly convenient base. Here, you can take a technical break, replenish your supplies, grab a warm meal at one of the many restaurants, and plan your next trip. And if you're in the mood for a short scenic excursion, it's worth heading towards Góra Guzowata —the climb is short and steep, but rewarding with a panoramic view of Radków, the reservoir, and the surrounding mountain ranges. You can admire it from a renovated, elliptical viewing platform. This is a bonus for those who like to squeeze more than just a photo from their stop. Oh, and one more thing! How it working

To listen to the history of monuments as part of the "Discover History" project, you need to follow a few simple steps. Below, we present a short, step-by-step "user manual" to provide a relatively simple way to access the mini-auditions.

STEP 1

You need a smartphone with a camera. The camera lens should be pointed at the information plaque located next to the monument. Below is a view of the plaque itself and its example location next to the Karol Musioł monument in Opole.

STEP 2

After pointing your smartphone's camera at the QR code located on the right side of the plaque, the app's welcome screen will appear, followed by a screen with the name, photo of the monument, and the "START" button.

STEP 3

The "START" button starts the audio recording process.
Your smartphone will prompt you with the next steps after you listen to the story or pause it. Please keep an eye on your smartphone screen!

STEP 4

Other available options: brief information about the monument, author of the text and recording, list of other monuments in the city included in the "Discover History" project, downloadable map of monuments, video, and social media links
