The cemetery is also the burial site of former pastors of the Wang parish: Erich Gebhard, Otto Frank and Erich Passauer. After the funeral of the composer Rudolf Jonas in 1949, the cemetery remained unused for fifty-two years.
Let us pause for a moment where the perpendicular path leads towards the church and look in its direction. Does the distinctive form of the apse—the semicircular part of the building now visible—not resemble the helmets of the fearsome Vikings? The ridge decorations on the roof, carved in the shape of dragon heads, strikingly evoke the prows of the swift ships of Scandinavian warriors. Both the apse and part of the external ornamentation, however, date back to the nineteenth century. These details were crafted by Master Jakob from Janowice Wielkie near Jelenia Góra. Now let us continue along the terrace beside the low stone wall.
