Nowy Świat

Welcome to "Nowy Świat" ("New World") ! The name is truly apt. The road leads through a peaceful, rural landscape, where signs of ancient piety, engraved in stone, appear time and again.

I'm referring, of course, to the old chapels, mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries. They don't dominate the landscape, but they do attract attention and compel us to slow down. Why are there so many of them here? A former pilgrimage route runs through the settlement.

This section leads from Radków to Wambierzyce, one of the most important sanctuaries in the Kłodzko region. For years, pilgrims have traveled this route, and with them grew roadside chapels, statues, and small symbols of faith, which to this day give this place a unique character.

And therein lies its charm. It is captivating through the silence, the rhythm of footsteps, and the bike wheels, which slowly roll in the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims.
Cyclists will certainly appreciate this route: the terrain is conducive to a leisurely ride, and the surrounding area encourages combining this section with a further loop through the Radków commune. From here, you can continue on to more famous attractions.

How it working

To listen to the history of monuments as part of the "Discover History" project, you need to follow a few simple steps. Below, we present a short, step-by-step "user manual" to provide a relatively simple way to access the mini-auditions.

STEP 1

You need a smartphone with a camera. The camera lens should be pointed at the information plaque located next to the monument. Below is a view of the plaque itself and its example location next to the Karol Musioł monument in Opole.

STEP 2

After pointing your smartphone's camera at the QR code located on the right side of the plaque, the app's welcome screen will appear, followed by a screen with the name, photo of the monument, and the "START" button.

STEP 3

The "START" button starts the audio recording process.
Your smartphone will prompt you with the next steps after you listen to the story or pause it. Please keep an eye on your smartphone screen!
