It was likely founded in the Middle Ages as a farming settlement connected to nearby estates. For centuries, its fate intertwined with the history of Silesia – borders, owners, and administration changed, but the rhythm of life remained similar: farm work, closeness to nature, and a daily routine determined by the seasons. After World War II, Gajów, like many towns in the region, underwent a population change. The former inhabitants were displaced, and settlers from various parts of Poland took their place. This is when the village's modern history began.

Gajów is a peaceful, almost tranquil space. It lacks crowds, but offers something that is invaluable for tourists – silence, open landscapes, and a sense of being "off the beaten track." It's an ideal starting point for cyclists. It lies directly adjacent to Tłumaczów and the Czech border, opening up access to an extensive network of trails on both sides of the Sudetes.
