Catch your breath and look ahead. We're at an altitude of 435 meters, surrounded by fields and meadows. It's an ideal vantage point.
Below you stretches one of the most distinctive panoramas of this part of the Kłodzko region. From here, Wambierzyce looks like a scale model. In the center rises a monumental basilica with wide steps flowing down like a stone river. This has been a place of pilgrimage for hundreds of years, but from this perspective, it takes on a completely different, more peaceful character.

Let's change perspective and take a broader look. Rolling hills, fields intersected by narrow roads, and forest ridges create a soft, almost painterly landscape. In good weather, you can get a good look at the Table Mountains. Their distinctive, flat peaks resemble stone tables set up by giants. Their highest peak, Szczeliniec Wielki, stands out, of course. To the north, the horizon is capped by the forested mound of Ścinawka, approximately 530 meters high.

And at the very top of our hill, marked by the crossroads between the roads from Ścinawka to Wambierzyce and from Ratno to Chocieszów, stands a stone statue of Mary and Child. For pilgrims, this was a prayer stop before descending to the sanctuary. It's no wonder this particular statue was chosen. The pilgrimage tradition to Wambierzyce has been linked from the beginning with the cult of the Virgin Mary and Child. Why? I'll tell you more once you've reached the sanctuary.
