Museum in Słupca

The history of the museum in Słupca can be traced back to 1925. It was then that Tadeusz Parys, the mayor of the time, started collecting all the documents and items relating to the city's past. In just a few years, he gathered 65 exhibits!

Among them were the statute of the shoemaker's brotherhood from 1550 or an even older document on the construction of the altar in the parish church from 1455. Unfortunately, the museum as we know it today, did not function yet. It was not until 1932 that a museum chamber was established in the local school, which was moved to the building of the secondary school shortly after the war.

It was not until 1975 that the regional museum was established. The building was thoroughly renovated in 2009. The roof was replaced and the façade was renovated.

Visitors will always find something new here. All because the museum's collections grow year by year. Mainly thanks to the inhabitants who willingly offer him valuable souvenirs.

For years, the museum has been an important center of cultural education, and many initiatives have become a permanent fixture in Słupca's event calendar.

STEP 1

You need a smartphone with a camera. The camera lens should be pointed at the information plaque located next to the monument. Below is a view of the plaque itself and its example location next to the Karol Musioł monument in Opole.

STEP 2

After pointing your smartphone's camera at the QR code located on the right side of the plaque, the app's welcome screen will appear, followed by a screen with the name, photo of the monument, and the "START" button.

Your smartphone will prompt you with the next steps after you listen to the story or pause it. Please keep an eye on your smartphone screen!

Project partners

Implementing the "Discover history" project in each city requires the involvement of many people: programmers, graphic designers, writers, actors, sound engineers, and coordinators. It is thanks to them that this project came to life.

Our ambition is to continually expand its reach. Therefore, we thank our current partners and invite additional cities, institutions, companies, and individuals to collaborate!
